Surveys of Centre Users
We carry out a survey of Centre users every six months or so. Our most recent survey was on a Friday in October 2012. There were 166 people in the Centre – 154 men and 12 women. Greater numbers of women seek the assistance of the Advice workers than stay in the Centre. 50% were sleeping rough. About half of centre users receive benefits.
One User’s Story
“I was really pleased with the way things went – I did all the things that the Advice Worker advised me to do and it has gone to plan – I got my Habitual Residency sorted out, my national insurance number and my benefit and then almost immediately got a job. I am now in the ROBES shelter saving to get some money together to get a room or bedsit and a second job.”
